Lamps that are properly chosen are key to complementing, but also emphasising any space.

Every experienced decorator stresses the importance of lighting a space. It is crucial to its decoration. Of course, in a living room, kitchen or room, the choice of colour scheme or furniture is important! Let’s not forget how a lamp can take away from the style and aesthetics of a room.

Lamps, therefore, cover not only the practical part, i.e. seeing, but also create the atmosphere and feeling you want your space to ultimately acquire. A well-lit space motivates you to work, encourages you to relax or play.

Since we said that the decoration of our home is the colour , lighting is definitely the jewel that will give character to the whole. But how do you choose the right lamp for your space, based on your own needs, that will harmonise with your space?

Lamps – consider the size of the room

Before you start looking for lighting, it is important to measure the dimensions of the space. The size of the luminaire is determined by the space in which you want to place it.

For example, if your space is 10-15sqm, a 30-40cm fixture is ideal for you. Placing a large lamp in a small space will automatically make the room look even smaller. If, on the other hand, you place a small fixture in a large space, you will automatically do a disservice to your chosen fixture.

Loft lamps – decide what style you want to follow.

Before choosing a fixture, it is important to know what style you are looking for. For example, if you’re looking for a lamp for your dining room, you need to know what style of table you’re going to match it with. If you can decide on the colour or shades, it will make your choice much easier.

Lamps – distinguish between lighting requirements

Recognise in which space you have high lighting requirements e.g. kitchen, bathroom. When choosing a luminaire, check that it can accept a high-efficiency lamp or, in the case of a built-in LED , that it has a high luminous flux.

If a luminaire does not meet your needs, throw it away and continue researching our products.
